Founder's Journey

Naranbadrakh “Narra” Batkhuu began as a quiet protector of Mongolia’s horses – rescuing, rehabilitating, and sharing their transformative impact on people’s lives. His conviction that horses embody healing, heritage, and peace grew into a movement that gained national and international support. Through his collaboration with the Mongolian President His Excellency Khürelsükh Ukhnaa, Narra’s work reached the United Nations, where World Horse Day was formally recognized, and the Foundation took shape.

Our Mission

Our mission is to amplify the voice of horses worldwide. Inspired by the work of our founder Naranbadrakh Batkhuu (Naara) and the international standard for equine dignity established by the United Nations, we champion compassion, stewardship, and global awareness. Through education, advocacy, and storytelling, we work to ensure that every horse is valued, understood, and safeguarded for generations to come.

Our Vision

We envision a world where the role of horses is celebrated, their wellbeing prioritized, and their presence recognized as essential to human history, culture, and peace. Guided by Mongolia’s heritage and the spirit of World Horse Day – now formally recognized by the United Nations – we imagine a global community united by respect for these extraordinary animals. Our vision is a future where horses and humans thrive together, connected by empathy, purpose, and shared responsibility.

What We Do

We unite global equine communities and organizations through shared knowledge, policy dialogue, and education, ensuring every horse receives compassionate, science-based care. Our work strengthens the horse–human bond as a force for peace, wellbeing, and sustainable development. Through advocacy, research, and cultural initiatives, we highlight the value of horses in the modern world. Each year, the worldwide celebration of World Horse Day on July 11 helps inspire action, connect communities, and champion meaningful change.

Formalizing Our Structure

The World Horse Day Foundation is built on a foundation of transparency and global accessibility.

  • United States: We are a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All contributions are fully tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

  • United Kingdom: While our independent UK Charity status is currently pending, we are fully equipped to receive tax-deductible donations from UK taxpayers. This includes eligibility for Gift Aid, which increases the value of individual donations by 25%, and Corporation Tax relief for our business partners.

We ensure rigorous financial oversight and transparent governance, strengthening our ability to serve equine communities
